EMPOWERING STUDENTS THROUGH CGI U- Clinton Global Initiative University

As a CGI (Clinton Global Initiative) Mentor, I recently had the privilege of being invited to Makerere University Business School to share invaluable insights with students. CGI U is an initiative established by former U.S President Bill Clinton that aims to engage young people in creating innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. Students are offered immense opportunities, personalized mentorship and one of a kind training to turn their ideas into action.

Am a Proud Alumni of the #MUBSEIIC, Makerere University Business School Entrepreneurship Innovation and Incubation Center and its always an honor to come share invaluable insights with like-minded peers exploring opportunities like CGI U and beyond.

 CGI U is a platform that brings together students, university administrators, experts and thought leaders from various fields to address global issues. The program offers a unique opportunity for students to access resources, mentorship and funding to transform their ideas into impactful projects. Annual meetings are hosted annually where attendees can participate in workshops, networking sessions, and pitch their ideas for potential support.

 Networking and Collaboration; One of the key benefits of the Program is the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for social change. Students network with peers, mentors, and potential partners, fostering collaboration and creating a powerful support system for their initiatives.

Access to Expertise and Resources: The program provides access to a vast network of experts, professionals, and organizations who are committed to supporting student-led initiatives. Through mentorship programs, workshops and panel discussions, students learn from experienced individuals who have successfully implemented social impact projects. Additionally, CGI U offers financial support through grants, funding competitions, and access to resources that can help students turn their ideas into action.

Project Incubation and Implementation: CGI U encourages students to take their ideas beyond the conceptual stage and provides support for project incubation and implementation. Students receive guidance on project planning, impact measurement, and sustainable business models. With access to training and workshops on project management and entrepreneurship.

As a CGI Mentor, l am inspired by the passion and dedication of the students l interacted with at Makerere University Business School. Their enthusiasm for creating change gives me hope for a better future.
